Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

With the exception of Danny Kedwell, Peter Taylor has a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of this weekend’s visit of Scunthorpe.

John Egan (knock) should be fine to play while Doug Loft was rested as a precaution on Tuesday having only recently returned following his Achilles problem.

As for Scunthorpe, caretaker boss Andy Dawson has no new injury or suspension worries after the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Notts County, but striker Lyle Taylor (groin) and defender Eddie Nolan will not make the trip.

Deon Burton will be included in Dawson's plans. The veteran former Gills forward has missed out in recent weeks due to a knee injury and if not fit will assist the coaching staff.

Manager Comments:

Peter Taylor says he, nor the team, will be taking Saturday’s game lightly despite the recent goings on at Scunthorpe and is looking forward to the game.

He said: “I’m expecting a tough match but at our home ground we need to start better than them. I can’t see Andy changing too much, they had more possession against Notts County during the week – there are no pushovers in this league.”

Iron Caretaker boss Andy Dawson said: “He took me to Hull City from Scunthorpe many moons ago and obviously we went on to be very successful there. It’s a manager I know well and I played with Hessy (Andy Hessenthaler), his assistant, so I know them both very well; they’re great characters and they’ve been very successful.

“I spent many years with Peter and we know a few things about them and we’ve been through that on Thursday morning.”

Sky Bet, the league’s title sponsor, price Gillingham at 6/5 to clinch all three points against Scunthorpe at MEMS Priestfield Stadium. The visitors are 9/4 to win, while a draw will get you odds of 23/10.

Special Bet: Bradley Dack to score first and Gills win 3-1: 110/1.
