GILLINGHAM V BRISTOL CITY
FA Cup First Round
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Saturday November 8
Peter Taylor will definitely be without Amine Linganzi
and Aaron Morris for the visit of City. Both have hamstring injuries which will see them miss the next couple of weeks, while Callum Davies
is more likely to return for the JPT game against Crawley on Tuesday.
and Luke Norris have had slight niggles during training and their fitness will be assessed right up until kick off.
As for City they could well rest a number of first team players including Aden Flint, Kieran Agard, Frank Fielding and Aaron Wilbraham with the Robins in JPT action on Tuesday night before their top of the table clash against Swindon.
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Scott Wagstaff, Greg Cunningham and Wes Burns could all be recalled.
Peter Taylor: “It’s a big test for us, Steve has a good team there and they are in confident form. It will be a tough time to play them but hopefully we can cause an upset.
“We need to get a result and get some pride back.”
Steve Cotterill: “We’ll be taking it seriously, for sure. I’m trying not to look upon it as the first round of the FA Cup at this stage and put out too much of a weakened team, just because of the important cup and league games that follow.
“We want to do well in the FA Cup and win the game; we always want to win.”
Sky Bet have made Bristol City the favourites with odds of 5/6 to win the match. Gillingham are 16/5 while a replay will get you a price of 13/5.
