Scott Malone enjoying his goal scoring exploits as he helps Gills clinch back-to-back victories.
Two goals in two games, two clean sheets, two wins in a row... no wonder why Scott Malone's smile is twice as big.
Following the wing-back's astonishing worldie against Sutton last Friday, he popped up again with another match-winning strike against Colchester to ensure the team started 2024 with a bang!
"It's been a good period for us" admitted Malone. "And it was nice that we had 1,000 fans here to enjoy it. It's been great, but we can play better.
"The pitch didn't help, it was heavy and wet. All that matters though is three points away from home.
"Two clean sheets. I think our defenders have been magnificent, as a unit we are doing well.
"Clean sheets are great, but there is nothing better than scoring a winner. It's two goals in two for me and I am more than happy with that.
"We are enjoying it at the minute. We are a point away from the play-offs, so we are going in the right direction. I think we have had 40 shots from the last two games. We can get more on target and we can score more.
"We now look to Sheffield United in the FA Cup where we have nothing to lose. All the pressure will be on them, so we can go out and try and implement our game, enjoy it and see what happens."
