BRISTOL CITY V GILLINGHAM FC: MATCH PREVIEW

28 January 2015

We bring you the latest team news ahead of Gillingham's trip to Ashton Gate in the second leg of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Area Final

BRISTOL CITY V GILLINGHAM
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Final Second Leg
Ashton Gate
Thursday January 29
Kick-Off, 745pm

Team News:

Gillingham will be without the services of striker John Marquis who is cup tied. The striker featured for Cheltenham in the same competition earlier this season and is therefore unavailable.

Amine Linganzi (hamstring) and Aaron Morris (hamstring) sit out while Danny Galbraith (toe) has recovered in time to travel.

Antonio German (foot) will be assessed at the last minute, but Joe Martin (calf) played in Monday night's Kent Senior Cup fixture and is fit to play.

As for City they have extended the loan of striker Matt Smith, while Kieran Agard has been passed fit after coming on as a second half sub in the 1-0 FA Cup defeat to West Ham United.

Aaron Wilbraham (hip) remains a doubt.

Managerial Comments:

Darren Hare said: “The crucial thing will be whoever scores the first goal. If we get through half an hour without conceding then there is every chance we can nick one, and if we do that will change the whole mentality of the game.”

Steve Cotterill said: "The other games (against Gillingham) have gone. This is a new game and we'll approach it like any fixture.

"There will be no complacency. Not at all. If we don't reach Wembley then it won't be through complacency."

Previous Meetings:

Bristol City will be looking for a fourth win over the Gills this season having been victorious in all three previous games at Priestfield.

The first was in the opening round of the FA Cup where the Robins prevailed 2-1, before returning in late December where they took a 3-1 victory in the league. Days later they were back in Kent to win the first leg of the Area Final 4-2.

Betting:

Bristol City are the favourites to win the match with odds of 2/5. Gillingham are 6/1 to record victory while the draw is priced at 15/4.

Special Bet: Jermaine McGlashan to score first in a 3-1 away win – 500/1.
