Team News:
Peter Taylor will be without Joe Martin and Michael Doughty for the trip to Bradford with both players suspended. Joe is serving the second of a three match ban while Doughty misses his only and one match after receiving two yellow cards in last weekend’s win over Leyton Orient.
Josh Pritchard and Callum Davies are both fit but it remains to be seen if they have done enough training to travel, however Amine Linganzi could feature following a hamstring problem.
As for Bradford, James Hanson (thigh) and Gary Jones are pushing for recalls, while Mark Yeates’ condition will be assessed at the last minute with his left shoulder having popped out of place during last week’s game against Preston.
Manager Comments:
Peter Taylor said: “It’s always a great atmosphere there – a terrific stadium, 12,000 people at least make themselves known so it’s a good noisy Football stadium.
“They normally start very well at home so you have to be prepared to match them in every way, and we will be.”
Phil Parkinson said: "Gillingham will come to Valley Parade this Saturday boosted by their late win over Leyton Orient last weekend. We've seen the game and they were probably deserved winners in the end.
"Having also won at Crawley before (in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy), they will be coming here with renewed confidence but we will be up for the challenge of facing them."
Previous Meetings:
The last time the two sides met was in March of this year when a second half strike from Cody McDonald earned the Gills a 1-1 draw at Valley Parade with Aaron McLean having put the Bantams ahead in the 10th minute.
Earlier in the season and City beat Gills 1-0 at Priestfield thanks to a first half goal from Gary Jones.
The head to head statistics however favour the Gills with 19 wins from the 43 games played – Bradford have 12 victories, with the other 12 being draws.
Betting:
The Bantams are the favourites to earn all three points with odds of 4/5, while Gills are 100/30 to clinch their first away league victory of the season.
James Hanson is the favourite to score first with a price of 4/1, while Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell are 13/2 to net the opener.
