Mark Patterson's development side to take on Canvey Island at the Prospects Stadium this evening
A Gills XI will travel to Canvey Island this evening for a pre-season friendly at the Prospects Stadium.The squad, which will be managed by development boss Mark Patterson, will see a lot of younger players given 90 minutes to improve their match fitness while selected first team squad members will be given the chance to impress.
Manager Peter Taylor will be keeping one eye on the result as he prepares a squad to play Ipswich Town at MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
This will be the club's fifth match of pre-season, with the Gills unbeaten in their opening four games.
Kick-Off tonight is at 7.30.
