HAUSE TO RETURN TO GILLS AFTER ENGLAND EXPERIENCE

15 October 2014

Kortney Hause set to return to first team training at Gillingham following spell with England U20 team

Kortney Hause will return to first team training at MEMS Priestfield Stadium later this week having enjoyed a successful stint with the England U20's.

The centre-back, on loan from Wolves until early January, played three times for Aidy Boothroyd's team during a mini tournament in the space of just five days.

A four nation competition saw England take on Germany, Holland and Turkey as a number of youngsters got experience on an international stage and the opportunity to play first team football.

Hause started the games against Germany and Turkey, the latter saw the defender get the only goal of the game for England in a 1-1 draw.

The first game against Germany resulted in a 1-0 win, with Hause coming off the bench against Holland to help clinch a 3-2 win despite being behind with three minutes to go.

His performances earned a lot of praise, not least of which from Boothroyd who said:

"Kortney Hause made his debut and he had an exceptional game.

"It’s a fantastic experience for him and the rest of the boys to play against such high quality opposition."

Gills boss Peter Taylor added: "I'm sure he would have enjoyed his experience playing for his country.

"I was told he played exceptionally well in his first game and scored in his third game, I'm delighted for Kortney to be recognised by the English FA."
