LOAN DUO HEAD HOME

6 January 2014

Gillingham have decided not to extend the contracts of two of their loan signings

On loan duo Danny Hollands and Donervon Daniels have returned to their parent clubs, Charlton Athletic and West Brom, after their respective loan agreements ended following Friday night’s 1-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Central midfielder Danny made 18 league and cup appearances for the Gills after signing in late August, his only goal for the club was the winner in our 3-2 home triumph over MK Dons.

While defender Donervon made just three senior starts after signing on loan in late November. The Baggies centre-half made a sparkling start to his Gillingham career scoring our second in the 3-2 home defeat of Stevenage.

Speaking about the pair manager Peter Taylor said “Donervon and Danny are two tremendous lads, really great professionals and I want to thank them for their efforts here.

“They did everything they could, the loans were up and I had to look at everything I needed for the next half of the season, so I decided not to carry them on. Good luck to them, hopefully they go back and get another loan sorted out or get playing for their clubs.”
