SCUNTHORPE V GILLINGHAM FC: MATCH PREVIEW

24 April 2015

We bring you the management comments, latest odds and team news as the Gills prepare for their final away journey of the season

SCUNTHORPE V GILLINGHAM
Sky Bet League One
Saturday April 25
Glanford Park
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Danny Galbraith (hamstring) remains the only possible injury absentee for Justin Edinburgh’s men. Joe Martin (hamstring) is fit for selection after coming through training unscathed.

As for Scunthorpe John Lundstram will be looking to retain his place in midfield at the expense of Isiah Osbourne.

Alex Davey will not play though as he has returned to Chelsea after picking up an injury.

Young winger Hakeeb Adelakun will be looking to keep his place in the team after an impressive display against Bradford.

Management Comments:

First Team Coach Steve Lovell said: “We set up to go and win the game, no matter where we play. Our away form has been very good so hopefully we’ll take that with us on Saturday and get a result.”

Iron Assistant Manager Ned Kelly said: “We are six points in front of the bottom four so we will be looking to win the game. We don’t tend to worry about what goes on elsewhere because you can’t affect any of that.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs last met in October last year when the Gills slipped to a 3-0 defeat to the Iron at Priestfield.

Skipper Doug Loft was sent off towards the end of the first half, with the visitors taking full advantage after the break to score another two times.

In total the clubs have met on 36 occasions – of those the Gills have won 10 matches, Scunthorpe have won 13 with the remaining 13 ending in a draw.

Betting:

Scunthorpe Win – 13/10
Draw – 12/5
Gills Win – 2/1
Special Bet: Bradley Dack to score first in a 2-1 win – 55/1.
