TEAM NEWS - GILLINGHAM

Just as it seemed the club's injury worries were finally easing, Mark Stimson was hit with a double blow as loan signings Rene Howe and Tristan Plummer were injured during a routine training session on Friday.

Striker Howe took a knock to the hip and is rated doubtful for the visit of Tranmere, while winger Plummer is definitely ruled out with a twisted ankle.

Defenders Simon King (ankle ligaments) and Garry Richards (conjunctivitis) remain sidelined, along with striker Jacob Erskine (ankle). Stimson could be set to shuffle his pack after Saturday's disappointing 0-4 defeat at Brentford.

CURRENT FORM:

A heavy defeat at Griffin Park saw the Gills drop to 20th in League One, only a superior goal difference separating them from Brighton in the drop zone. Krbs Priestfield has been a fortress for the Gills in 2009/10, with only seven goals conceded at home 14 league outings. Stimson's team will be desperate to get back to winning form against relegation threatened Tranmere.

SQUAD FROM:

Alan Julian, Simon Royce, Barry Fuller, John Nutter, Josh Gowling, Tom Wynter, Darren Dennehy, Kevin Maher, Jack Payne, Mark Bentley, Curtis Weston, Stuart Lewis, Danny Jackman, Adam Miller, Rashid Yussuff, Chris Palmer, Simeon Jackson, James Walker, Andy Barcham, Luke Rooney, Dennis Oli, Mark McCammon, Rene Howe, Luis Cumbers.

TEAM NEWS - TRANMERE ROVERS

Rovers Manager Les Parry will welcome back first-choice left-back Zoumana Bakayogo after the French defender completed a one match ban following his recent sending off against Charlton.

On-loan Watford striker Marvin Sordell could be handed a first full start, the striker made his Rovers debut as a second-half sub in Saturday's defeat to Oldham.

One likely absentee will be former Gills striker Bas Savage who is still sidelined as he continues his recovery from a ruptured Achilles tendon.

CURRENT FORM:

Long-serving physio Les Parry's appointment as Caretaker Manager in October signaled a recovery in Rovers fortunes with five wins and three draws preceding his permanent appointment as Tranmere Manager. The defeat at home to Oldham on Saturday was Rovers first defeat in three league outings following a home win over Yeovil and an impressive draw against Charlton at the Valley. The Wirral side have only won once away from home all season, 1-0 at Wycombe, and have only managed seven goals on the road in 2009/10.
