TEAM NEWS - GILLINGHAM
The Gills will be without four first choice defenders on Saturday, Simon King and Garry Richards (both ankle), along with right-back Barry Fuller (broken nose) are ruled out for the season. While in form centre-half Darren Dennehy has returned to Cardiff City after completing the maximum period allowable by his emergency loan.
Josh Gowling is available to return and will compete with Tom Wynter for the vacant center-back berth, while Jack Payne is set to retain his role at right-back after impressing against Leeds and Norwich City.
Striker Simeon Jackson could return to the starting line-up after starting Gillingham's latest outings on the bench. Loan striker Chris Dickson could feature for the final time before returning to parent club Charlton Athletic
CURRENT FORM:
The Gills come into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Champions Norwich but have enjoyed far superior form at Priestfield this season. The home side are currently 20th in League One two points above Tranmere in the last relegation spot. A win for Gillingham would all but secure their League One place for another season, and with a bumper gate expected, the atmosphere at Priestfield is likely to be at fever pitch.
SQUAD FROM:
Alan Julian, Simon Royce, John Nutter, Tom Wynter, Josh Gowling, Kevin Maher, Jack Payne, Mark Bentley, Curtis Weston, Stuart Lewis, Danny Jackman, Adam Miller, Rashid Yussuff, Chris Palmer, Simeon Jackson, Dennis Oli, James Walker, Andy Barcham, Chris Dickson, Rene Howe.
TEAM NEWS - SOUTHAMPTON
Southampton will be without midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin who serves the third match of a four game suspension. Defender Graeme Murty is also ruled out after undergoing surgery to an ankle injury.
Defenders Wayne Thomas and Radhi Jaidi could both return after shrugging off respective calf and hamstring injuries.
CURRENT FORM:
The Saints are currently seventh in League One and, but for a points deduction at the start of the campaign, would be going for promotion this weekend. Alan Pardew's men are unbeaten in their last nine league outings but despite a valiant effort, cannot make the play-offs as they are currently seven points behind Huddersfield in sixth place. Southampton have won eight games on their travels this year, drawn nine and lost just five.
