Another absentee is Curtis Weston who has been told to rest his troublesome thigh injury. However coming back into contention are skipper Barry Fuller, Cody McDonald, Jack Payne and Mark McCammon who all returned to training this week and could play some part.
Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy will assess his squad following their midweek Carling Cup tie.
Last week -
While the Gills were slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Lincoln, Sammy McIlroy's side were losing 3-2 at Burton, letting slip a 2-1 lead given to them by Andrew Fleming's brace.
On Tuesday night Morecambe lost 3-1 to Burnley in a Carling Cup Second Round tie at the Globe Arena. They took a 12th minute lead through Phil Jevons but the Championship side hit back to claim the victory.
We've met before -
The Gills have only met Morecambe twice before, doing the double over the Shrimps in the 2008-09 season. The first ever meeting, in October 2008, ended in an emphatic 5-0 victory for the Gills here at Priestfield when the scorers were Mark Bentley, Simeon Jackson (2), a David Artell own goal and one from Mark McCammon.
Three months later Curtis Weston scored the only goal of the game in the return at a wet and windy Christie Park. The midfielder was on hand to score in the 19th minute when Gary Mulligan's shot beat keeper Barry Roche and rebounded to him off a post.
The teams at Christie Park that afternoon were -
Morecambe: Roche, Artell, Bentley, Adams, Yates, McLachlan (Hunter 82), Stanley, Wainwright (O'Carroll 72), Twiss, Howe, Taylor (Blinkhorn 61). Unused Subs: Davies, McCann.
Gillingham: Royce, Lewis, Bentley, King, Nutter, Oli (Southall 38), Weston, Miller, Barcham, Mulligan (Payne 85), Jackson (Cumbers 89). Unused Subs: Pugh, Julian.
