Gillingham claimed their fifth away draw of the season from a lacklustre contest at Edgeley Park.
Mark Stimson kept faith with the starting eleven that kicked-off last week's excellent win over promotion chasing Huddersfield Town with Simeon Jackson partnering Rene Howe in an attacking 4-4-2 formation.
On a pitch almost completely devoid of grass and with the markings of Sale Sharks' latest Rugby Union outing still visible, Stockport began the match at a high tempo causing a few problems for the visitors back four without actually registering a shot on target.
Gillingham were given an almighty scare on 10 minutes as Partridge's cross from the left fell to George Donnelly in the box, he rolled his finish beyond Julian and mercifully beyond the far post.
Six minutes later the Gills finally carved out a chance, Jackson turning on the edge of the box before sending a low effort scudding towards Von Williams' far post.
With the pitch cutting up badly, conditions worsened midway through the half as fine rain was added to the mix, making events particularly unpleasant for the visiting fans on the uncovered Railway End.
In an otherwise uneventful half, Greg Tansey tested Julian in the 41st minute with a bobbling free-kick that the keeper held comfortably, while Stuart Lewis stinging drive was blocked in the box soon after.
In added time, Andy Barcham tore through the County midfield and laid-off to Adam Miller, whose shot from the right deflected into the side netting, the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in an instantly forgettable first 45.
HT 0-0
Stockport started the second half with the same attacking intent that marked their start to the match and were unlucky not to score two minutes after the restart. Paul Turnbull got a head to Partridge's left wing cross but Alan Julian dived well to claw his effort away at the back post.
Gills supporters were up off the feet in the 53rd minute as it seemed the Simeon Jackson had conjured a goal from nothing. The Canadian international beat von Williams with a 20-yard shot-on-the-turn but his effort crashed off the outside of the stanchion and behind for a goal-kick.
Three minutes later, Turnbull let fly with a rising drive from similar distance though Julian was always equal to the challenge. Moments later at the Cheadle End Jackson, broke through on goal only to be denied by the onrushing County keeper.
That would prove to be the forward's last contribution to proceedings as he was subbed soon after and appeared to be struggling with an injury.
Jabo Ibehre ballooned a good 69th minute opening over the Railway End, while Julian pulled off a fine double save to deny first David Perkins shot from the left and then Paul Turnbull's fierce volley as both sides pressed for a breakthrough but neither were able to fashion a goal.
