Manager Mark Stimson has decided to make experienced midfielder Nicky Southall available for loan. The 36 year-old missed out on much of pre-season with a groin injury and Stimson is keen to get the Gills legend match fit. "I've spoken to Nicky and we agreed that it's in the interest of both parties."

"He needs to get match fit because injuries have restricted his participation in pre-season. Unfortunately we only have one reserve game this month and Nicky needs to get some games in, so a loan spell is the best option."
