Gillingham Manager Mark Stimson this evening decided to release Tyrone Berry following the conclusion of his short term deal.

The young winger was offered a month's contract in August after impressing in two pre-season trial performances.

Berry set up Gary Mulligan's dramatic late equaliser in the Gills opening day 1-1 draw at Bournemouth and was offered a further month's deal.

After this afternoon's 1-0 win over Port Vale Mark Stimson revealed the midfielders departure, "I've had to let Tyrone go, it was an extremely hard decision to make but everyone has a budget and we have to work within ours."

"We've recently brought in Albert Jarrett who offers the same qualities as Tyrone, but Albert can play on both sides so unfortunately we've had to release him."
