Left winger Charlie Daniels has opted to return to Tottenham Hotspur and compete for a first team place following the conclusion of his one month loan with Gillingham.

The midfielder made five appearances for the Gills and will be best remembered for his sublime 30 yard free-kick goal which completed the 3-0 home win over Grimsby.

With Spurs currently placed bottom in the Premiership, Daniels is keen to return to White Hart Lane and hopes to force his way into first team contention.

Gills Manager Mark Stimson was understandably sorry to see Daniels depart, "I'm disappointed that he's decided to go back to Tottenham but I thank him for his time here and wish him all the best for the future."
