Promising youngster Luke Rooney today joined Blue Square Premier side Eastbourne Borough on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19 year-old attacking midfielder turned professional last summer and recently signed a two year contract that will keep him at the club until 2012.

Luke has made a promising start to his first team career, scoring on his full league debut in the 3-0 win over Exeter City in September.

A month later he netted a stunning strike in the 4-1 defeat at Southampton and has clocked 13 senior appearances for the club this season.

He joins a Boro side struggling near the foot of the Blue Square Premier following Chester City's recent expulsion from the League.
