Gillingham have been draw away to Millwall in the First Round of the 2006/07 Carling Cup.
All 72 Football League clubs were entered and clubs were split on a North and South basis. Some clubs were seeded depending on their league finish last season and were drawn against unseeded clubs.

Ties to be played week commencing Monday, 21st August. Round Two of the competition will see the winners of Round One joined by the twelve Premiership clubs not participating in Europe:
Aston Villa, Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham, Manchester City, Middlesborough, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield United, Watford and Wigan Athletic.
Round Three will see the entry of the eight Premiership clubs participating in the Champions League, the UEFA Cup and the Intertoto Cup:
Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
