Kingy: "It is going to be a battle."
King is the reigning Barnet Player of the Year and admits he had some good times at Underhill: "I am really looking forward to it. I spent four good years at Barnet and have a lot of good friends there. It is a small club but they are very family-orientated and I really enjoyed myself there. I had good interaction with the fans and have some good memories from my time there. There are still a few lads there from my time at the club. Paul Fairclough did bring a few new players in over the summer but I still know a lot of the squad and speak to them quite a bit."
The FA Cup is a nice break from the league and King admits the Gills will face a battle against a side that've down well in cups over the last few years: "It is the FA Cup so it will definitely be a tough game. Underhill is like a little fortress. It is a small pitch, the fans get right behind the team and they are doing well this year. I've spoken to some of their players and they are playing some good football and getting some good results. We have to go there and be right on our game.
"Barnet have got some good players. A key player for them will be Jason Puncheon. I played with him last season and he is a very good winger. He scores a few goals too so we will have to keep him quiet. We need to go to Underhill with the right attitude, do the right things and we can get a result.
"It is going to be a battle. You never know what can happen in the FA Cup so we need to go there, play football and be on top of our game. The new Gaffer has come in and he is starting to get the ball out from the back a little more and we need to keep doing that. We should go there, enjoy it and make the most of it. We need to be up for it.
"Last season, Barnet got to the Fourth Round. We beat a couple of decent teams in
King has made the majority of his professional appearances at centre-half, but for the Gills has been playing at left-back, and he expects his game to flourish under new Manager Mark Stimson: "I think I've settled in okay. I was finding my feet over the first couple of games as I'd obviously stepped up a league. League One is tougher, the strikers are better, they are sharper and they have better movement. I've been playing at left-back and although it isn't my favourite position, I've been getting my head down and getting on with it.
"At the end of the day, I am happy to play anywhere; I just want to be in that starting eleven. I prefer to play at centre-half but if I keep working hard, hopefully I'll keep my position at left-back. Efe Sodje and Ian Cox have been about for years so it is great having them alongside me. They keep talking to me throughout the game and they keep me on my toes. To be able to learn off them is a real bonus.
"Mark Stimson has come across really well. Training has been good, it's been very lively and there is a good tempo to it. He wants us to look to keep the ball, enjoy having the football and we need to take that into Saturday. We've played a couple of good sides in the last week. Swansea and Doncaster look to keep the ball a lot more, their players are comfortable on the ball, their movement is really good and you have to be on your toes all the time; you cannot switch off and have to concentrate for the full 90 minutes."
