Gillingham picked up another important point last night against Brighton and young defender Tom Wynter revealed that the mood in the camp was buoyant after Alan Julian's late penalty save heroics, "We're glad that we got the point because obviously we didn't want to lose all three.
"At the same time we're disappointed that we didn't win the game, though obviously, when you get a man sent off it becomes a different game so we're glad to take the point.
The 19 year-old has only made a handful of appearances for the first team but was unfazed by being thrown into the match, "They are a tough team, a strong team and I was just pleased to come on.
"I've been playing reserve matches which luckily are week in week out at the moment so I've been keeping up my match fitness. It was a tough game, quick paced and a physical battle too. I just tried to play my own game and think about me because if I have a good game it will stop them from having a good one.
Tom's defensive partner Josh Gowling saw red for a professional four on Glenn Murray and Wynter felt the red card was a cruel one, adding, "It was harsh, I didn't see Josh really touch him but I'll have to have another look and see if I was right or wrong.
"Josh is obviously upset because we've got Leeds on Saturday and that's a massive game and it means we're missing a couple of players at an important time of the season.
"Luckily I played with Josh in the reserves against Brentford last week which was a 0-0 so it was good playing with him. I haven't played with Dennis Oli in defence before though, but he did a good job to be fair."
With Garry Richards ruled out with an ankle injury, Gowling suspended and Dennehy doubtful, Tom could find himself facing Leeds United this weekend but the youngster is a remarkably cool customer, "I know its Leeds but I just think of it as another game.
"Just get your head down, work hard and do the best you can. I know it's a big game but that doesn't play on my mind at all. It's just another game of football.
"I'll come in on Thursday, work hard and let the Gaffer know that if he needs me I'm there. We're just trying to keep good spirits at the moment and focus on each game as it comes. We want to go out to win every game, stay in this league and kick-on from there next year."
