Following hard on the heels of Andy Barcham and Simon Royce, Gillingham have secured the future of another of their Wembley heroes as Simon King today signed a new three year contract.
Central Defender King was one of the club's outstanding performers last season with his confident defensive displays playing a major role in the Gills clinching promotion back to League One at the first attempt.
He also swept the board at the club's annual awards night taking home the Player of the Year, Players Player and Home and Away Supporters Player of the Year Awards.

Simon joined Gillingham from Barnet shortly before the 2007/08 season and would have been eligible to leave on a free transfer next summer. However his new deal means that King will be contracted to the Gills until the summer of 2012.
