Fans favourite Andy Hessenthaler has been confirmed as the new Manager of Gillingham Football Club.

The hugely popular midfielder made over 300 appearances for the club between 1996-2006 and managed the club to it's highest ever league finish during a four year stint as Player/Manager.

He returns to the club after a successful spell in charge of Dover Athletic and will be joined on the coaching staff by Mark Robson who has been promoted to the role of Assistant Manager.
