27 year-old shot-stopper Ross is a former Arsenal youngster and Fulham apprentice, who made the bench on several occasions for the Craven Cottage club as well as gaining first team experience with loan spells at Brighton and Doncaster Rovers.
He was released by the Cottagers in 2005 and joined Barnet, where he made 50 league appearances, playing in the same side as Andy Hessenthaler, Ian Hendon and future Gills team mate Simon King.
After two seasons at Underhill Flitney spent time with Grays and Croydon Athletic before being snapped up by Andy Hessenthaler's Dover in January 2010. He instantly became the Whites first choice keeper, making over 50 starts for the club including a memorable clean sheet display at Priestfield last November. Ross put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Gills in July 2011.
