Gillingham's latest signing, Walker joined on transfer deadline day from League One rivals Southend United. The 22 year-old forward arrives at krbs Priestfield on an initial three month deal after agreeing to terminate his contract at Roots Hall.
Walker served his apprenticeship with Charlton Athletic and gained first team experience with loan spells at Hartlepool, Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Notts County, Yeovil Town and Southend.
He made the latter move permanent in the summer of 2008/09 and found the net four times in twenty appearances for the Shrimpers, despite starting regularly as a winger rather than his preferred striking role.
He began this season with a successful loan spell at Hereford United but returned in time to feature in Southend's League One and FA Cup Round One matches with the Gills.
