Second Year Scholar Tom Murphy was spotted playing for Kent Schools and signed for the Gills Under-16's in January 2008.
After impressing with his performances in the Youth Team, Murphy was called into the senior squad for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Second Round tie with Colchester United and made his debut as a second half substitute.
He is a strong forward who holds the ball up well and finished the 2008/ 09 season as a regular in the Reserves.
