Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome once again to krbs Priestfield for tonight's intriguing clash with Leyton Orient. As I'm sure you will need no reminding, we were forced to compete with tonight's visitors in extremely trying circumstances, when we travelled to the East End earlier in the season, after a roof top protestor brought much of that part of London to gridlock. I sincerely hope, for our visitors' sake, that no one has decided to blockade the Medway Tunnel before this evening's fixture.

In my programme notes for Saturday's match with Bristol Rovers, I stressed the importance of everyone at the club, both on the pitch and in the stands, presenting a united front ahead of the challenges that lie in store in the final quarter of the campaign. So, it was very encouraging to experience the notable improvement in atmosphere and positivity around the Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Your tireless encouragement for the players, particularly in the second-half, had a noticeable effect on the team's display and the three points earned are a testimony to what we can achieve if we keep focussed on the job in hand and pull together as a club.

One swallow does not make a summer, of course, and although it was very comforting to see the club sitting 16th in the League table on Saturday night, only two points separate us from the sides in the relegation zone. With fourteen matches still to be played before the season is out, there are sure to be a great many twists and turns before the dust settles, but we have given ourselves a platform to build on most importantly our future is still very much in our own hands. As an interesting aside, it also worth noting that Saturday's result took us above Exeter City in the table, another of the sides promoted from League Two with us last year, which serves to illustrate the quality of the division that we are looking to cement our place in.

Saturday afternoon also saw the return to Priestfield of Chris Dickson, who has agreed a loan transfer to the club for the remainder of the season. I've no doubt that Chris will have been touched by the warmth of your welcome and I think we saw enough on Saturday to know that he can make an important contribution to the team over the coming weeks. How ironic then, that Simeon Jackson should be the man to step up and steal the glory, showing a remarkably calm head to slot home our winner in the 92nd minute. Jackson showed precisely the response that is required after finding himself on the substitute's bench and it is that character and desire to succeed that will surely see him play at a higher level at some point in his career.

We have also taken steps to bring some continuity to our back four by extending Darren Dennhey's loan agreement for a further two months, this week. Darren and Garry Richards were faultless again on Saturday and it can be no coincidence that the back-four have managed four clean sheets from the seven matches since Darren arrived at the club.

Leyton Orient have enjoyed a good run in recent weeks and are sure to give us a stern test again this evening, but if we can get the Stadium rocking again like you did on Saturday, then I sure the team will get the right result.
