Quigley returned to the MEMS Priestfield Stadium on transfer deadline day in January 2017, having recovered from an ACL injury sustained during his previous loan spell in ME7 at the start of the 2016/17 campaign.
The highly-rated AFC Bournemouth striker was the Gills' sixth summer signing, but suffered a serious injury in our 2-1 victory over Bury on August 13, his third appearance for the club. A quicker-than-expected recovery led head coach Ady Pennock to secure his services on loan until the end of the season.
Although yet to make his professional debut for the Cherries, Quigley’s progression through the club’s Academy earned him his first professional contract aged 18 in April 2015. He signed an extension through to 2018 shortly before rejoining the Gills.
The six-foot-four striker also had a fruitful loan at Southern Premier side Poole Town, for whom he scored eight goals in 21 appearances. He also gained valuable playing time in the National League with Torquay United (August to September 2015), Wrexham (October 2015) and Woking (November 2015 to March 2016).
