KATIE'S WEEKEND PICKS

26 October 2013

One of our GFC Gems previews the weekend's games

It’s our new feature for the 2013/14 League One season! The GFC Gems, one by one, will be taking up the responsibility of bringing you some of the best betting picks for weekend or midweek fixtures.

having already had a go, they’ve told me I must go next and hopefully I can beat their scores.Karis and TequillaOn this occasion, with

Tequilla got one out of six correct in her accumulator bet a couple of weeks ago and, earlier this week, Karis got two right and one of her specials also won.

If you had put £10 on Chris Whelpdale to score first with the Gills to win then, at 11/2, you could have won £65!

, and below I’ve highlighted a couple of special bets.Tuesday’s win against Notts CountyThe boys travel to Port Vale this weekend hoping to secure back to back wins after

For a repeat score line of last year’s 2-0 victory at Vale Park you can odds of 16/1.

With Danny Kedwell in good scoring form he is 8/1 to net first, and you can get 28/1 if you fancy him to get a goal in both halves!

Katie’s Special:

Myles Weston set up the first goal on Tuesday evening and looked very lively out on the wing. Should he start, then I think he could well unlock the Vale defence.

Weston to score first in a 2-1 Gills Win – 70/1.

Elsewhere the Premiership takes centre stage once again, and below I’ve predicted the result from all six top flight games. If you agree, click the link at the bottom to have a flutter.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

I think a lot of people were surprised to see Ian Holloway depart Selhurst Park earlier in the week. He did a great job to guide the club to promotion last season, but with him gone, I think it will take Palace a while to settle down.

Arsenal slipped up during the week in the Champions League at home to Borussia Dortmund, but I’m confident they will respond in the right way and take all three points.

KATIE SAYS: ARSENAL WIN

Aston Villa v Everton

It’s a tough one to call really – Villa are certainly a stronger outfit than they were last season and to keep hold of Christian Benteke was, in itself, like a new signing with rumours he would leave.

However I think the Toffees (I’m told that is there nickname by the girls!) will come away with at least a point. They’ve been impressive under Roberto Martinez and, looking at the table, they won’t want to lose much ground at the top.

KATIE SAYS: DRAW

Liverpool v West Brom

I’ve heard the Sturridge/Suarez partnership at Anfield is being referred to as `SAS` this season, and at the moment, you would have to say the goals they are scoring will almost certainly make them title contenders.

These are exactly the sort of games they need to be winning to ensure Chelsea and Man City are kept on their toes, and I think they will have enough to defeat the Baggies.

KATIE SAYS: LIVERPOOL WIN

Man Utd v Stoke

A last gasp goal from Southampton last week robbed United of all three points at Old Trafford, and they need to start winning soon if they have any ambition of retaining their title.

I think David Moyes will be after a big response from his players, and I fully expect them to deliver.

KATIE SAYS: MAN UTD WIN

Norwich v Cardiff

Again, this is a tough one. The teams are separated by just a solitary point with the hosts in the relegation places as things stand.

It really could go either way, but with Cardiff more than capable of springing a surprise, as they did against Man City, I’m going for an away victory.

KATIE SAYS: CARDIFF WIN

Southampton v Fulham

Many might have witnessed the `Goal of the Season` on Monday night when Pajtim Kasami (I had to look that one up) scored a wonder goal to equalize!

Steve Sidwell then produced another cracker before the break before going on to win 4-1. Southampton though are in great form, they are sitting in the top six and playing some nice stuff at the moment.

Fulham in general don’t travel very well, so bearing that in mind, a home win seems likely for me.

KATIE SAYS: SOUTHAMPTON WIN
