Club Statement
The club were saddened to learn this morning of a serious car accident which has involved George Howard.The latest news we have is that George is in intensive care in a coma on life support in a hospital in South Africa.
George has reportedly been in hospital for six days and remains in a critical condition.
The thoughts of everyone at Gillingham FC are with George and his family.
Manager Peter Taylor said: "I am absolutely devastated to hear of the news and we are praying for his recovery.
"My thoughts are with George, his family and friends at this difficult time."
Donations are being collected for George's rehabilitation and helping his family remain in the country with him.
