Defender Adam Chicksen has extended his loan for another month.
The 24-year-old played in the loss at Oldham and has featured four times since returning for his second spell at the Gills.
Justin Edinburgh said: "I thought he was excellent against Oldham and when he came on against Barnsley. We are pleased to have him here for another month"
The extension will add reinforcements to the back-line which is pretty bare at the moment, after the news of John Egan's injury last week.
The return of Deji Oshilaja willalso add strength in defence, and the manager said he is hopeful of concluding the loan deal before the weekend.
