Dean Saunders to host Sportsman's Dinner at Priestfield

Former Liverpool striker coming to Priestfield.

Enjoy an evening with former FA Cup winner and Welsh international, Dean Saunders, at the home of Football in Kent.

Gillingham Football Club is delighted to announce that former Welsh international striker, and FA Cup winner, Dean Saunders, will host a Sportsman’s Dinner inside the Great Hall at the Medway Priestfield Stadium on Thursday October 24.

The former Liverpool striker will be answering questions on his career from the gathering audience and sharing his stories from his time in the game as guests enjoy a welcome drink, a two-course meal along with tea, coffee and access to the Piano Bar. Rob McCaffrey, formerly of Sky Sports, will be compering the evening.

Dean’s accolades including winning the FA Cup with Liverpool in 1992 before returning to Wembley two years later where he scored twice against Manchester United to help clinch the League Cup for Aston Villa in a 3-1 victory.  In 1996 he also won the Turkish Cup with Galatasaray after scoring in both legs of the Final.

Dean then went into management where he coached Doncaster Rovers, Wrexham, Chesterfield and Wolves. He now works as a pundit for various broadcasting companies.

Tickets cost £50 or, for £90, you can sit on Dean’s table and get up close to the man who scored 255 goals across a glittering and successful 19-year career which included spells at Nottingham Forest, Swansea City, Benfica and Derby County.
