Calling all media students! Gain some hands on experience with the Gills.
Gills Ladies, and the Girls Academy, are currently looking for enthusiastic people to work on their press coverage throughout the season.
If you would like to be considered, please read the below descriptions and apply using the details at the bottom of this story.
Gills Ladies are looking for a Head of Media/Lead Reporter to write match reports, conduct interviews, run the appropriate social media platforms and upload content to the Ladies dedicated website.
Reporting to the club’s Head of Communications, the successful individual will be responsible for all editorial output and providing material for the club’s match programme. Access to own transport is essential.
Reporting to the Media Manager, the Ladies Assistant will provide additional help in creating content, writing website copy and obtaining interviews for use across all platforms.
Gills Ladies also require all first-team home fixtures to be filmed. These usually take place on a Sunday at 2pm.
This role would suit a university or college student looking to get into the camera operation/editing/analysis industries who has access to equipment. Basic goals and match highlight edits would be required, and potentially individual clips as requested by the first-team manager.
The Girls Academy also requires an enthusiastic individual to record all fixtures (both home and away) within their respective competitions. Again, this would suit a current student who has access to own equipment who is looking to gain experience in camera operation and shooting live football matches. Access to own transport is desirable but not essential; this role can be performed in addition to the Gills Ladies role for the right applicant.
To apply for one of these roles, please email a CV and brief covering letter clearly stating the role(s) you are interested in, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Successful applicants will be contacted directly.
Please be aware these are voluntary positions.
