SKY BET LEAGUE 1 ODDS

8 October 2013

We bring you all the latest market movers after Saturday’s round of fixtures

The Gills secured their second successive win at the weekend, beating high-flying MK Dons 3-2 at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.

Which means that Gillingham are 20/1 to finish in the Top Six this season while our automatic promotion odds remain at 40/1

Here’s how that result has affected the League 1 betting odds.

Sky Bet League 1 leaders Leyton Orient are on the drift in the title odds after Wolves and Peterborough reduced the deficit at the top of the table on Saturday.

Orient are out to 10/1 from 9/1 having been forced to settle for a second successive 1-1 draw, although Russell Slade’s men remain one of only two unbeaten sides in the entire Football League, QPR being the other.

Wolves’ comprehensive 3-0 win at Colchester means they preserve their status as title favourites, coming in from 11/8 to evens, while they remain odds-on (4/11) for promotion.

In the eyes of the online bookmaker, it’s a two-way tussle between Kenny Jackett’s side and Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough, who are now 9/4 second favourites having been 11/4 before their 2-0 home win over Preston.

Indeed, it was Preston’s first league defeat of the season but it only had a marginal effect on their promotion odds, drifting out from 3/1 to 4/1.

Notts County produced Sky Bet League One’s biggest win of the weekend as they racked up a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Crewe, which was a 40/1 chance in the correct score market prior to kick-off.

Elsewhere, Bradford City remain in the hunt for successive promotions as their 2-0 away win at Walsall saw their odds to go up shorten yet again to 4/1, having been 7/1 before embarking on their current unbeaten run of seven.

Meanwhile, Port Vale have found some form with three wins and a draw in their last five. They’re in the top-half of the table and have been trimmed from 14/1 to 10/1 for a top-six finish.
