Jordan Green and Shaun Williams returned to the starting XI on Tuesday night and should be available for selection again. Ben Reeves will be a 50/50 call, while Olly Lee is unlikely to feature due to a tight quad. Haji Mnoga was cup-tied on Tuesday and will be available once more.

Former Gills academy graduate Harvey Lintott could start against his former club for Northampton, having come off the bench in The Cobblers FA Cup defeat to Chesterfield.

Louis George Appere and Shaun Mcwilliams could return to the Northampton starting XI for Saturday’s game.

Manager Comments:

Neil Harris - “Northampton are an athletic, hardworking and organised side.

"We know it will be another challenge, they are a good side and we need to be at it for 90 minutes."

Jon Brady - “Even when they have not got the results they would have wanted, they have been in a lot of games, I’ve watched their games and they are a real hard working honest team with a very experienced manager.”

Previous Meetings:

The last meeting between the two clubs came in April of 2021, where the game ended in a 2-2 draw. Vadaine Oliver gave Gills the lead in the 11th minute. Olly Lee’s corner was headed in the path of the striker, who thumped home from just a few yards out. Lee scored Gillingham’s second midway through the second half. He latched onto Ryan Jackson’s ball forward before dragging his right-footed effort across the goal and into the bottom corner.

Ryan Edmondson pulled a goal back for the visitors with 11 minutes remaining as his effort from inside the box found the bottom corner. Fraser Horsfall completed the comeback four minutes later as he headed a corner curled towards the near post into the back of the net.
