Gills Manager Martin Allen looks forward to our Capital One Cup clash

Good Morning.

We have no new injuries for tomorrow’s game. Adam Barrett had a sore ankle and could have played on Saturday. Adam Birchall has completed seven and a half weeks of full on training and we felt it was sensible to rest him for a week to help with his long term development plan and now he will start again for the next stage.

Connor Essam has had to work behind the scenes to get him up to the standards he set himself last year. He is a good player but needs more strength and power and soon he will be back in amongst it. His attitude has been spot on.

Both on and off the field on Saturday it was a good day for our club. There was quality, there was passion, we all worked as a team and in my mind we start tomorrow’s game as favourites. I fully expect us to win this game.

See you tomorrow night.
Martin
