Johnny Warsap scored twice while Jackie Briggs and Hughie Russell added further goals in a comfortable opening day win Stuart has been with no less than 25 different clubs, both league and non-league during his nomadic career from Arsenal as a youngster to his current club Bedlington Terriers.

He made his debut against Luton Town and went on to make five appearances in total.

The Newcastle United midfielder joined the Gills on loan for a month in October 1998.
