The 'Deres first-team proved too good at Charlton Athletic's training ground in Sparrows Lane with Kevin Alexander netting all three

On leaving the Gills, Jonah previously at Bristol City, Bradford Park Avenue, New Brighton and Bristol Rovers, joined Kidderminster Harriers in July 1929.  

The centre-forward signed from QPR in August 1927 and made the first of his 60 appearances, in which he scored 30 goals, at the Valley against Charlton in the first game of the season.

DEATH...


The Scot was a regular in the side, making 73 appearances, before moving to Swansea Town in February 1927.

Goalkeeper Alex joined the Gills from Wigan Borough in June 1925 and made his debut on the opening day of the following season, a 3-0 home win against QPR.

At the end of the season, having scored five goals in 20 league and cup appearances, William returned to his native Midlands signing for Worcester City.

He opened his goal account in a 2-1 home FA Cup victory over Plymouth Argyle.

The forward arrived at Gillingham from Wolverhampton Wanderers in November 1927 and made his debut at Priestfield against Brentford.
