1891 - Jack Branfield
The local lad joined the Gills in August 1920 making his debut on the opening day of the season against Southampton at Priestfield.
In his two seasons with the club he made 64 appearances and then joined Sheppey United.
1955 - John Leslie
After eight years at Wimbledon, where he'd scored more than 100 goals in 300+ appearances, before Keith Peacock paid £10,000 for his services in August 1983.
After making his debut at Sheffield United, in his two seasons at Gillingham he scored 17 goals in 87 games.
Later played for Millwall, Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic, Dartford and Erith & Belvedere
1976 - Deon Burton
The experienced striker signed a one-year deal with the Gills in August 2012 having previously been playing for Gabala in Azerbaijan.
He is a Jamaican international (12 goals in 59 games) and previous transfers include Derby County paying £1m for his services.
Deon has made more than 550 appearances for a number of clubs throughout his career
