Gillingham Manager Martin Allen makes three changes to the side that lost to Rochdale at MEMS Priestfield on Saturday.
Jack Payne, Charlie Allen and Danny Kedwell all come in with Lewis Montrose and Robbie Findley having to make do with a place on the bench, with Danny Jackman missing out through suspension.
As for Northampton they make two alterations to their team – Kemar Roofe and John Johnson are chosen ahead of Danny East and Chris Hackett.
Roofe is currently on loan from West Brom with East and Hackett both on the bench.
Former Gills striker Adebayo Akinfenwa starts for the hosts in attack.
