Gills Community Trust and first team players pay visit to local school
This week the Gills Community Trust visited South Avenue Junior School in Sittingbourne to talk football in a term when the Year Six group have started playing the sport in their recent PE and games lessons. The students were given a pleasant surprise when Gills first team players Callum Davies and Jake Hessenthaler showed up for the talk, and answered all of their questions about football.
Favourite footballing memories were discussed as well as favourite current players and which teams the players supported when they were in school.
The players also stayed to sign plenty of autographs and wish the group a Merry Christmas.
Callum commented: “It’s really great to come out to local schools and talk to these young pupils about football, especially in an area that I know well. Hopefully they will take something from our visit and enjoy football in school.”
The Community Team would like to thank the school for inviting us in and wish all the pupils and staff there a Merry Christmas.
