BROMPTON THROUGH TO SEMI FINALS

1 February 2013

The result of Saturday’s half-time shoot out…

Brompton Westbrook Primary School and Halling Primary School fought it out in the first quarter-final of this year’s Half-time Shoot-out during last weekend’s game against York City.

The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could chose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal. The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure meaning that they both had to think and act fast.

This Saturday saw the first of the quarter finals of this season’s half-time shoot out. With both teams confident from the previous round this shoot-out saw a great deal of shots from distance, brave Goalkeepers and attempts to walk the ball into the goal. The shoot-out ultimately finished 5-1 to Brompton who are the first team through to the semi final, edging ever closer to this year’s trophy.

As usual we would like to thank both schools for taking part in the competition and good luck to Brompton Westbrook for the semi final which will take place when Gills face Torquay Utd.

Next up will be Twydall Junior School and St Margaret’s CofE Junior School when Gills take on Wycombe.
