DEMELZA HOUSE VISIT

Community Trust visit Demelza House...

Recently the Gillingham FC Community Trust visited Demelza House in Sittingbourne to support the ‘Holding On, Letting Go’ cause.

This charity looks to support and help children of various ages through a difficult time in their lives when they have lost a loved one.  With fantastic help from the charity’s volunteers the children spend two days taking part in different tasks and activities, which aim to help them express how they have dealt with their losses.

During the lunch times on both days the trust visited the group to offer some football based games.  Despite the snow and freezing conditions the children showed great enthusiasm to get involved with Head of Community Adam Lawrence and Gills Mascot Tommy Trewblu.

Adam said: “This is a fantastic charity, and one that we enjoy visiting and will continue to show our support for.

"The children have been through a difficult time, and so it is really great to see them smiling again, making some new friends and also learning how to cope with their losses.  We thank Caroline and the whole team at Holding On, Letting Go for inviting us down to join in with the children”.

We look forward to the next weekend after Easter and showing our support for such a wonderful cause.
