He scored his first goal in a 2-1 win at Bournemouth early in October and went on to score 45 goals, which included five hat-tricks, in 120 games for the club.

In July 1938 he moved to Notts County and was later with both Bristol Rovers and Brighton & HA.

1976 - Jon Bass

The right-back came to Priestfield in March 2000 on loan from Birmingham City, who he'd joined as a schoolboy.

He made his debut away at Colchester United, the first of seven appearances.

Jon later played for Hartlepool United, Pahang FA (Malaysia), Bristol Rovers and Salisbury City.
