The latest rumours involving League One clubs

Richard Day continues to check the websites and papers for news involving League One clubs...

BRENTFORD – Boss Uwe Rosler hopes to bring Everton defender Jake Bridwell, Norwich City midfielder Tom Adeyemi and Fulham forward Marcello Trotta back to Griffin Park. He is keen to re-sign Bridwell and Trotta on loan but taking Adeyemi on a permanent deal after he was not offered a new contract at Carrow Road.

Bees striker Harry Forrester is believed to be a summer target for Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert. The highly-rated 22-year-old is out of contract in June and has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

COVENTRY CITY – Burton Albion star Jacques Maghoma is said to be a target for the Sky Blues once the club come out of their current transfer embargo. The former Spurs youngster is out of contract at the Pirelli Stadium and available on a free transfer.

LEYTON ORIENT – O’s boss Russell Slade has stated that Barnet forward Ricky Holmes is a player he is interested in signing. The 25-year-old has been out since February following an ankle injury that required surgery and his Bee’s contract is due to expire this summer.



Slade also remains confident that both David Mooney and ex-Gill Romain Vincelot (above) will agree new deals with the East London club.

PORT VALE – It looks likely that winger Ashley Vincent, who still has a year to run on his current deal, could be leaving Vale Park after failing to agree terms on a new contract.

SHEFFIELD UNITED – It is understood that the Blades have asked permission to talk to Motherwell manager Stuart McCall as they search for their new boss.

SHREWSBURY TOWN – It is rumoured that Stephen McGinn and Yado Mambo, both loanee’s at the Greenhous Meadow last season, could be targets for permanent summer deals. Neither have been offered new terms at respective current clubs Watford and Charlton Athletic.

TRANMERE ROVERS – Former Barnsley skipper Stephen Foster, one of five players to be told they would not be getting new deals at Oakwell, is reportedly close to signing for Ronny Moore’s outfit.

The Birkenhead club are also said to be monitoring the situation of MK Dons striker Ryan Lowe who is keen for a return to the north-west.

WALSALL – Out of contract goalkeeper Cameron Belford, who has left Bury, has emerged as a target for the Saddlers.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – Celtic, Ipswich Town and an unnamed Bundesliga side are believed to be interested in signing Republic of Ireland international Stephen Hunt after Wolves decided against offering him a new deal. The Scottish giants could also make a move for Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle.

Fulham and local rivals West Bromwich Albion are set to offer midfielder Bakary Sako the chance of returning to the Premier League. It looks certain that the 25-year-old will depart Molineux this summer following the clubs relegation to League One.
