Rumours involving other League One clubs…

We look at the rumours emanating from websites and newspapers etc involving other League One clubs.

Bristol City keeper Tom Heaton is said to be in talks with Championship Burnley. The 37-year-old who is nearing the end of his current contract at Ashton Gate has been offered a new deal to stay with the relegated Robins.
Coventry City, Peterborough United and Rotherham United are all linked in chasing Falkirk's 29-goal striker Lyle Taylor who was named Scottish Division One player of the year.

Championship sides Charlton Athletic and Derby County are believed to be ready to move for Crawley Town defender Mark Connolly. The 21-year-old, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, who still has more than a year on his contract, made 40 appearances for the Sussex side following his summer move from Bolton Wanderers.

Meanwhile Crawley boss Richie Barker is believed to be interested in signing Blackpool defender Ashley Eastham who will be out of contract this summer.

League One sides Leyton Orient and Sheffield United plus Doncaster Rovers are reported to be interested in Swindon Town’s Italian winger Raffaele De Vita. The 25-year-old is leaving the County Ground due to cost cutting measures.

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is now a short price favourite with the bookies to be named as the new manager at Sheffield United although the Buckinghamshire club say no approach has been made for the 32-year-old.

Notts County winger Alan Judge has been linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers, Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town.

Press reports have linked Aston Villa with a £4m move for Peterborough United striker Dwight Gayle. The 22-year-old, who is also said to be a QPR target, scored 13 times in 27 appearances for Posh in his first season at Championship level. Darren Ferguson splashed out £500,000 for Gayle in January following two successful months on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has denied an interest in Port Vale's Ashley Vincent, Inverness CT striker Billy McKay and Hartlepool goalkeeper Scott Flinders after being linked with the trio.

Dumbarton midfielder Scott Agnew is said to be a target for Tranmere Rovers, the former Rangers and Scotland Youth international has been scouted by a number of clubs.

Walsall manager Dean Smith is said to be on the look-out for a first choice goalkeeper. Last season the Saddlers boss had to bring in four keepers on loan.

Former England manager Steve McClaren wants to make a comeback in English football with Wolves but former Millwall boss Kenny Jackett remains the favourite with the bookies.

Mick McCarthy, one of the Wanderers managers last season, could be ready to throw Karl Henry, Kevin Doyle and Stephen Ward a Championship lifeline at Ipswich Town.

Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths, who has been on loan at Hibernian for the past two seasons, has stated he would love to stay at Easter Road but it depends on what happens at Molineux.
