KCFA ANTI-BULLYING COMPETITION

27 November 2013

Gills Community team support Kent FA’s Anti-Bullying programme

Before kick-off at our recent Sky Bet League 1 home fixture with Oldham Athletic we welcomed Val Hajialexandrou from the Kent FA to unveiled their Anti-Bullying competition winners.

As part of their Anti-bullying week activities the KCFA ran a competition, open to all Junior Clubs, giving them the opportunity to design a poster to combat bullying.

Val Hajialexandrou, Kent FA Welfare Officer said: “On behalf of the Kent FA, we have been delighted to support this year’s Anti-Bullying Week and raise awareness across The FA Tesco Skills programme within the county.”

“Our poster competition presented an opportunity to engage with young people involved in football and encourage them to be creative in getting across a really important message.”

“The standard of entries was great to see and to be able to award the winner and runners up on the Priestfield pitch was a magical moment. The children had a wonderful afternoon and proudly showed off their posters to thousands of fans in the stadium.”

The children also had the opportunity to train on the pitch before kick-off alongside Gillingham Community Trust Coaches, Tommy T and the GFC Gems.
