Our last home game against Carlisle saw two new schools take to the stage as Barnsole Primary faced Wouldham All Saints CE Primary in the fifth game of the half-time shoot-out.Each player has seven seconds to score from the edge of the D, and can choose to dribble and shoot, or simply fire one at goal. The keepers are allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounds and put the striker under pressure, meaning both players have to think and act fast.
Barnsole started the stronger, scoring with their first four efforts and piled on further pressure as their keeper managed to distract the Wouldham players enough to shoot wide, helping his side secure the win.
Congratulations to Barnsole who are through to the second of our Quarter-Finals which will take place when the Gills face Crawley Town in the New Year.
Our next contest sees Byron Primary School compete against Maundene School at half-time when the Gills face Oldham Athletic on Saturday 23 November.
