Speaking in his midweek press conference Peter said: “I’m really pleased because we’ve had a couple of little injuries and we are light in certain areas so to add to the squad it’s good news for us.
“The Linganzi injury meant we could do with another midfield man and I know John very well. I signed him when I was at Wycombe and he did very well for us. He’s a good athlete; he hasn’t been playing in Preston’s first team so it’s good for both parties.
“We took him from Brentford and he’s a really good professional, he wants to improve all the time. He will certainly fit in perfectly with our spirit and with what we want on the pitch.
“Preston is a big club, a different Manager has gone in and different managers have different ideas. For John its unlucky he hasn’t been playing but knowing John he would still have been knocking at the door to try and get in the team.
“His agent contacted me to say would I fancy something and I said yes. I wasn’t expecting to do anything before this weekend but I’m delighted that the Chairman spoke to Peter Ridsdale at Preston and got something sorted out.
“He can play on Saturday so he will definitely be in the squad – he’s coming down tonight and will train with us tomorrow.”
