There is still time to bid on a selection of items within our silent auction to help raise funds for Gillingham FC's Official Charity Partner
A few weeks ago Gillingham FC played host to a special Thunderball fundraising event in support of our official charity partner, Take Heart Mercy Mission.Over 350 people gathered inside the Great Hall at MEMS Priestfield Stadium to celebrate the successes of our recent missions, and to help raise money for our 2015 trip to the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle, Sri Lanka, where a team of dedicated doctors and surgeons from the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London will carry out a number of lifesaving heart operations.
Take Heart have been visiting Galle for over a decade now and, so far, have performed close to 200 operations. The Charity itself was launched in 2012, and the team got together once again in mid-November for a James Bond themed evening where, amongst other things, a raffle and silent auction took place with guests gaining access to poker and roulette tables before a disco rounded off proceedings.
In total the evening raised in excess of £75,000 which will help fund our trip to Galle in 12 months’ time; however some of the items did not get sold so we are now giving you the opportunity to bid on what could be a fantastic Christmas present!
All of the items are listed below:
LOT 1 – DFDS RETURN CROSSING
This item entitles to the winning bidder to one complimentary return crossing for a car and up to seven passengers on the Dover-Calais or Dover-Dunkirk routes.
This is valid for travel during 2014 and 2015 and subject to availability. This cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and this must be booked directly with DFDS Seaways.

LOT 2 – GOLD MEMBERSHIP FOR UNIVERSITY OF KENT SPORTS FACILITIES
This entitles the winning bidder unlimited access to all sports facilities including the fitness suite at the Canterbury campus for a whole year.
The voucher entitles you to some of the following:
- Entry to all fitness and dance classes
- Equipment hire
- Seven day advance bookings
- Online booking
- Discounts on recreational courses, fitness and nutritional consultations and the Kent Sports Physiotherapy clinic.
- Access to facilities for club training and matches.
This voucher must be redeemed by May 14, 2015.

LOT 3 – TWO TICKETS TO SEE PALOMA FAITH AT THE O2 LONDON MARCH 25
The winner of this lot will see the winner get two tickets to watch Paloma Faith perform live at the O2 Arena on March 25, 2014 (6.30pm).

LOT 4 – A NIGHT FOR FOUR AT THE SITTINGBOURNE DOG TRACK
This item entitles the winner, and up to three guests, to a night at the dogs courtesy of Heineken, and you can choose from one of the following:
Thursday – Entrance & Race Card, two course restaurant meal.
Saturday – Entrance & Race Card, three course restaurant meal.
Sunday – Entrance & Race Card, two course restaurant meal.
