GILLINGHAM FC V LEYTON ORIENT: MATCH PREVIEW

5 December 2014

Gillingham and Leyton Orient set to battle it out for a place in the JPT Southern Area Finals

GILLINGHAM V LEYTON ORIENT
Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Semi Final
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Saturday December 6
Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Peter Taylor says he is yet to decide whether Danny Kedwell will be involved in the match squad or not – the striker only started training on Thursday following a knee injection, but could feature if needed.

Aaron Morris (hamstring) definitely won’t be involved as he continues to recover from a hamstring strain. Michael Doughty didn’t train on Monday due to illness but is fit to play.

Joe Martin has served a three match ban and his available once again, however it remains to be seen if he will get the nod over on loan full back Adam Chicksen.

As for Orient they will be without Chris Dagnall who is suspended. Jay Simpson and Darius Henderson could also miss out while midfielder Jack Price has been recalled by parent club Wolves.

Lloyd James (calf) and Kevin Lisbie (shoulder) are out of action long term.

Manager Comments:

Peter Taylor says he and the players are eager to book a place in the Area Finals and knows what to expect after a thrilling encounter against the same side just a few weeks ago.

He said: “There is a big prize at the end of it so I’m sure Orient, like ourselves, will play their strongest team. We beat them recently and they would probably like to get a bit of revenge back.

“We know we can beat them and we showed here we are very capable, but what we also know is that they have a lot of good players.”

Previous Meetings:

The clubs met just three weeks ago in a league fixture with Cody McDonald netting the winner in the dying seconds in a 3-2 victory.

Chris Dagnall equalised in stoppage time with Leon Legge having bagged a second half brace.
